The Journey of a New Shooter by Rachel Dohrmann

I wanted to write a BIG Thank you to Karen Butler, Founder of Shoot Like A Girl.

She took out time with me this past weekend at the Huntsville, Al Fishing and Hunting Expo to teach me how to shoot and also gave me one of her OWN Bows..Long story, mind wasn’t adjusted right and being a beginner I didn’t purchase the correct kind of bow that fit me. I appreciate all the time she took out to show me correct posture and adjusting the bow to my fit. I can tell her passion is in shooting and I really look up to her and hope that I can be a great hunter and competitive shooter like her one day !

I look forward to the many memories I will make on hunting trips and great stories to tell. My husband is a retired Marine like her husband Todd. I look forward to going on hunts with my husband and making this a family event. We love spending time together and sharing the same hobbies! 

So a big Thank you again for everything Karen and I will look forward to writing to you again soon about my experience so far with learning to shoot and going on my first hunt!!
