About Sloan:
I am 30 years old and have been going hunting with my dad since I was 3 years old. My family and I have a large dog boarding and training facility that we have been running since 2011. I began working with dogs when I was 11 and have been training professionally since we started S&S Outdoors in 2011.
How I got involved in shooting and or hunting:
I guess you could say I was a Daddy’s Girl from a very young age. I wanted to go wherever he went and do whatever he did… even sitting in the woods when it was freezing cold and being quiet to see if God would provide us a deer that day. Once my dad saw that I was crazy about the outdoors, instead of getting baby dolls and frilly dresses at Christmas…I got a new gun or bow and camo, tree stands, duck calls, and the list goes on.
Why I like encouraging/introducing women and beginners into shooting sports/hunting:
I love seeing new people (especially girls) get involved in shooting and hunting because I know how much I love it and I want everybody to have the same opportunity. I have met so many girls over the years that thought it was really cool that I had someone to take me hunting and teach me how to shoot. Many of them did not have someone in their lives that had the patience to take them hunting – their dads did not take the time with them because they were girls.
Any other outdoor/shooting activities:
Dog training and hunting are by far my favorites especially when I can combine the two of them!
