One of the simple joys in life is a hot cup of coffee on a cold day. Or if you’re like me, it’s multiple cups of coffee on cold days. It seems in the winter months I especially have to stock up on both coffee and creamer, and it led me to notice just how many grounds I was going through. A quick Google search later, I found some great self-care uses for used grounds that would make my body feel as good as my taste buds. So, if you feel like dead skin is accumulating on your skin like the snow is stacking outside, take a little time for a mini spa day at home.
Here’s a couple recipes I found below-
Exfoliating Face Scrub-
6 Tablespoons used coffee grounds
6 Tablespoons sugar
½ Cup coconut oil (or your choice of oil)
Optional- essential oils
Mix together and apply to face in circular motion. Let sit for 5 minutes, then wash off with warm washcloth.
½ teaspoon used Black Rifle Coffee Grounds
½ teaspoon honey
Mix together and gently rub mixture on lips in a circular motion for 30 seconds. Remove with a wet warm washcloth and moisturize after.
Please note- I am not a doctor nor dermatologist.
So light a candle and enjoy a little time to yourself, whether you’re drinking coffee or having a mini spa day.
