Shawn Hawke – A Spectacular Educator Providing Life Lessons

How and/or why did you get started in shooting sports?

I never considered archery as a hobby until my son Ethan encouraged me to give it a try. His passion for the sport was infectious. Despite my initial hesitation, Ethan guided me through my first practice session, teaching me proper technique and cheering me on. With his support, I gradually improved and developed a passion for it. As we practiced together, I realized the positive impact archery had on my life, helping me build confidence, focus, and relieve stress. I am grateful to Ethan for introducing me to archery and being my mentor throughout the journey. His encouragement and support have allowed me to discover a new passion and find joy in a sport I never thought I would pursue. I am now dedicated to continuing my archery journey with enthusiasm and sharing my love of it with others

Why are you passionate about working with SLG2, Inc?

I am passionate about working for Shoot Like a Girl because of their mission to empower women to participate in shooting sports with confidence. They provide opportunities for women of all ages to explore and excel in shooting, instilling confidence and empowerment. I believe in the transformative power of sports in building self-esteem and self-efficacy, and I am inspired by Shoot Like a Girl’s commitment to helping women develop new skills and reach their full potential. By providing resources and support to women interested in learning to shoot, Shoot Like a Girl promotes safety, proficiency, and encourages women to step out of their comfort zones. I believe that by working for Shoot Like a Girl, I can make a positive impact on women and contribute to a more inclusive future for the shooting sports industry.

When not shooting, what do you like to do?

When I am not shooting, you can find me out in the woods hunting deer in the fall and turkey in the spring with my dad. If I am not hunting, I find solace and joy spending time with my family…. my husband Dennis, 2 sons Garrett and Ethan, and my pup, Remi.
