LEADERSHIP STAFF SPOTLIGHT: Learn more about Jennifer Holton

We asked Jennifer Holton a few fun questions. Leadership Staff Spotlight is designed to help you get to know our awesome team of Leadership Staff a little better. Jennifer lives in Michigan and is and an avid competitive archer.

Are you a competitive shooter? Yes

What types of matches / shoots do you participate in? I attend 3D archery competition, at the National level and at the State level

What types of firearms / archery do you shoot competitively?

I use a compound Bow, and shoot Women’s Known 45 with ASA (Archery Shooters Association)

If you could only shoot one type of competition what would it be?

ASA national. I love the friendships I have made through archery and enjoy traveling to the different Venues

How did you get involved with competitive shooting?

My husband was going to shoot an National ASA back in 2009 it was in Florida, we had 8 inches of snow and I said that I was going to go with him, he said well you need to bring your bow. I wasn’t into shooting my bow, I did gun hunt with him. We got down to Florida and archery took a whole different meaning, I signed up to shoot Women’s Hunter, didn’t do great but had so much fun and got to learn so much from other women that I was hooked, I went home started shooting my bow and haven’t stopped.

How long have you been shooting competitively? I just completed my 9th year of Competitive shooting

What shooting skill would you like to master? To Relax in my shot

What’s your biggest shooting challenge? Target panic

What would be the most amazing competitive stage that is still on your bucket list? Shooting Women’s Pro and getting into the Shoot down.

What’s the hardest lesson you’ve learned?
You have to put in the practice time,

What could you give a 40-minute presentation on with absolutely no preparation? I could give a 40-minute presentation on Immunization. I am the immunization coordinator at my office and can let you know all the benefits of vaccine.

What do you like most about the SLG shooting trailer?

I really like pistol/rifle simulation. I also like that we women get the opportunity to handle firearms and see how it fits in their hands.

If you didn’t have to sleep, what would you do with the extra time?
If I didn’t have to sleep, I would definite shoot more archery,

What hobby would you get into if time and money weren’t an issue? I think I would like to try shooting a pistol or rifle competition.

What non-shooting related skill would you like to master?
I like to become an artist, I would love to paint

What non-shooting related .. do you wish you knew more about?
I like to know how to fix an engine

What are you interested in that most people haven’t heard of?
I love to do Crochet

What’s the farthest you’ve ever been from home? As an Adult Texas, as a child California.

Where do you usually go when you when you have time off?
I spend a lot of time with my family. I have 3 kids, that are very active and I spend most of my time sitting in bleachers watching them.

Who inspires you to be better? My husband, inspires me to be better. He been my rock through a lot of life changing moments.

What are three interesting facts about you?
I participate in the Susan G Komen 3 day to end Breast Cancer, I ride a Motorcycle, Love Tattoos

What is your biggest fear? Losing my kids.

If you could only eat one meal for the rest of your life, what would it be? Steak with a bake potato.
