About Karen:

Karen Butler is the President of SLG², Inc, DBA: Shoot Like a Girl. Shoot Like a Girl is a company dedicated to growing the number of women who participate in shooting sports by empowering them with confidence.

Karen launched Shoot Like A Girl in February 2009 at the World Archery Festival in Las Vegas, NV and has achieved tremendous success since then; most notably, she was named by Outdoor Life Magazine as one of their 2011 Top 25: Leaders in Hunting, Fishing and Conservation; and is a member of Team Elk, Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation's television show. To date, she has put bows in the hands of over 3200 women across the country. Approximately 48% of these women had never shot a bow before being introduced to archery by Shoot Like A Girl. Karen is a hunting advocate, and continues to promote ethical hunting.

Born and raised in Southern Illinois, she has spent her adult life traveling the world with the United States Department of the Army Civilian employee, and now resides Alabama. Karen started shooting a bow in 2000, after camping with some friends where she shot her first bow and rifle! She was instantly hooked on the thrill, power and control of shooting. In 2006 she won the Colorado State Championship in the Women's Bowhunter Freestyle division. She has placed in numerous local, state and regional tournaments and has competed nationally and internationally. She has hunted Elk, Mule Deer, Whitetail Deer, Turkey and Pigs with a bow and deer, pheasants, quail, Hungarian partridges, chukker and ducks with a gun. She competes in CMP Rimfire Sporter Rifle Competitions, and has earned bronze. Karen has been featured on the Pursuit Channel show and on the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation's Team Elk show. She has been a featured speaker and conducted seminars at multiple shows, including Archery Trade Association's Archery Academy and Field and Stream Deer and Turkey Expos. She has also been a guest on several talk radio shows. She is a NRA certified pistol instructor, a life member of RMEF, and a member of the NRA.

Karen's husband, Todd is a First Sergeant, USMC (Retired), a veteran of Desert Storm, Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom. They have two sons, Dan, a 1LT and helicopter pilot in the U.S. Army; and Ed, who is a Navy Corpsman and father of their grandson, Ben. They also have three American Quarter Horses and a German Shorthair Pointer name Casey who hunts too!

About Cristy:

Cristy Crawford is the Chief Operations Officer of SLG², Inc, DBA: Shoot Like a Girl. Shoot Like a Girl is a company dedicated to growing the number of women who participate in shooting sports by empowering them with confidence. Cristy is an NRA certified pistol instructor, and a member of the NRA, the Texas State Rifle Association, the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, the Delta Waterfowl and the National Wild Turkey Federation.

Cristy began working for Shoot Like a Girl in December 2010 as Corporate Sponsorship Coordinator. She is an avid competitor; in 2013 she was the first woman to make the finals in the Field and Stream Total Outdoorsman Challenge.

She grew up in a small town in east Texas, New Boston, Texas and moved to Paris, Texas where she still resides. Cristy received her college education while being a college athlete playing basketball. She received a Master's Degree in Kinesiology from Texas A&M – Commerce.

At a young age Cristy found her passion and love for the outdoors. Fishing and camping were common activities during her youth. Her obsession with hunting would come later in life with her husband Cade Crawford sharing his skills and passion for the outdoors. Cristy got her first bow in 2003 as a way to extend her hunting season and has since won and place highly in several archery tournaments to include finishing second in the Texas State Championship in the Women's Hunter Division; winning the 2010 Texas State Championship and Arkansas State Championship and 2nd in the Oklahoma State Championship in the Women's Hunter division along with Shooter of the Year in Texas. Cristy has won and placed in the top three in multiple ASA Pro/Am's tournaments. Cristy also competes fishing tournaments throughout the year with her husband.

Cristy is an avid hunter and has harvested whitetail deer, mule deer, turkey, hogs, coyote, bobcat, dove, ducks, geese and pheasant. Most recently, she got her first experience in western hunting while hunting with Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation's Team Elk show. Cristy is an accomplished caller, and competed in Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation's World Elk Calling Competition placing in the top six in the women's division.

Cade and Cristy Crawford have one six year old daughter that has been out hunting, scouting and fishing since the age of two, and recently caught a 6 pound bass and reeled it in all by herself. The next generation of competitive fishing and hunting is in her daughters' blood already.
